In Tasmania it's a non-government educational institution that operates independently of the state education system, and is primarily accountable to their parent and school communities. Independent schools are not-for-profit organisations funded with a mix of government support and grants and student fees.
We are aiming to start in the school year of 2025. We have lodge the registration papers in early April 2024 and will progress from there.
Preparatory and Year 1 are open for expressions of interest. Later, as students progress, the opening of new years will follow.
Compared with other independent schools in Tasmania the fees are expected to be on the higher range.
We are looking for available places in the Southern Beaches area. Availability will determine where the school will be.
Our small size classes are below the Tasmanian average of 15 students per class. Co-teaching is often implemented with teachers paired together to provide inclusive and personalised learning environments.
We offer everything you would expect from the best Tasmanian schools and much more. We offer an Academic Curriculum (based on the Australian Curriculum) and a Wider Curriculum because we believe that classrooms come in many shapes and sizes, and the wider the range of learning experiences the better.
There are several strategies used at our school to facilitate learning and experiential learning is one of them. It is based on the “learning by doing” idea that children should do things in school, rather than just sit and receive information. Rather than passively listening to lectures, students engage in real-world experiences, allowing them to connect theories and knowledge to practical situations.
No.
Currently there is no waitlist, only expression of interest for students.
Yes. The local school area system from the state schools does not apply to independent schools. Your child can express interest and later enrol even if you don't live within the school intake or catchment area.
Yes.
